Introduction
After changing careers, leaving the model industry for the
computer industry I continue to fly a Falcon 46 SE and a Hawk 30.
There are great choices for modelers starting in this great hobby however
I feel that the contributions that Century has made to the market are
right on the mark. The simple fact comes down to a great helicopter
at a great price. I prefer to fly the Falcon 46 in the midsize class
with full 600mm blades and the best power to weight ratio right out of the
box of all the 46 class helicopters. My ship is not up to the
standard of the Special Edition however has been upgraded in the key areas
including 10mm main shaft, 4mm flybar, ball bearings mixing arms, torque
tube drive, anti-rotation assembly, Hurricane symmetrical carbon blades,
dual carbon support struts and rear rudder servo mount. I have added
upgrades as I have needed them or felt they would improve
performance.
My Hawk 30 serves as a great practice machine, it makes an ideal
helicopter to try those new maneuvers and builds basic confidence.
It is a basic Hawk 30 with the bearing upgrades and the 10mm main shaft
conversions. I have left the wire tail drive shaft and it is mostly in
stock configuration, my plans are to convert is to the Schweizer 300 scale
kit for a smart looking helicopter. The conversion is simple and I
will hopefully document my changes for others to share. |
